Continuing Education- The Next Step

What made you decide to continue your education? Was it the loss of your job, your personal goal or a need for advancement in your career? Whatever the reason, here you are, no longer college age but ready to embark on a college adventure! Do you have the urge to finish as soon as possible or are you deciding to take your time…easy does it? You’ll need to make more than these decisions before you start the process.
Well, if you decided to finish as soon as possible, you should know that it can actually be accomplished, even sooner than you think! There are ways to accelerate your degree by opting out of regular classes, using college level tests and life experience to get credit. You can earn a minimum of 3 credits depending on how you score on your test. This way, not only can you complete your degree faster, you can also save a lot of money!
Like everything else in life, before you start, you need to plan. Research is required to determine the best school and program to achieve your goal. The internet has a wealth of information to help you in the decision making process and in the actual studies. Many elite universities have posted courses on their sites free of charge. For tutoring, You Tube Edu contains videos on subjects ranging from business to law. We will discuss additional resources at a later date. You know of some of the tools available, what challenges do you anticipate in your journey?

  1. Continuing education -- what a timely blog! I'm not so familiar with You Tube Edu, so I'm looking forward to learning more about this resource. I'm also curious to know what you think about the courses posted by the many elite universities? Which are the more interesting ones?

  3. Thank you both! There are so many classes posted that it is hard to pinpoint one. With subjects ranging from Archeology to Quantum Physics, everyone should find something of interest. Yale said that: “The aim of the project is to expand access to educational materials for all who wish to learn”. These courses are accessible to anyone around the world; only time will tell the impact they make in under developed countries...
